2025 Hog Pork Outlook Positive for Producers and Packers

Anyone following the hog and pork markets recently has seen the volatility that preceded the recent surge to new contract highs, and the lack of consensus in the industry’s outlook. Earlier this week, the USDA issued a supportive outlook for the hog and pork markets in 2025, which helped support markets further. Amid this backdrop, WPI offers our outlook for the 2025 hog and pork markets. Briefly, our models anticipate strong pork demand in Q1 and Q2 to offset larger production and create a price-supportive environment.
