This should be an especially interesting week for grain and soy markets. First and foremost is President Trump’s announcement regarding the status of the Iranian nuclear pact this afternoon. His decision to withdraw from the agreement had been widely expected and strongly criticized. The crude oil market has climbed sharply during the past two weeks in anticipation that he would do this and put the previous sanctions back in place. That led Brent crude to top $76 and NYMEX crude to close near $71 yesterday, their highest prices since 2014.
