The respective chairs of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees, Representative Nita Lowey (D-New York) and Senator Richard Shelby (R-Alabama) have announced a deal to pass a continuing resolution (CR) that will extend government funding until 20 December. The current CR, passed prior to the start of  FY 2020 which began 1 October, expires next Thursday, 21 November. So far, that is all that's been agreed to. The budget fight is still hung up over funding for a border wall, the issue that resulted in the government shut down last year. A difference this year is the ongoing impeachment process.
