U.S. red meat and poultry stocks continue to trend below year-ago levels, driven largely by decreases in pork stocks but tigthening beef supplies as well. Pork stocks remain exceptionally tight as slaughter has underperformed expectations and consumer demand has been exceptional. Beef stocks are similarly declining under historically strong domestic consumption, despite increases in fed cattle weight. Finally, total poultry stocks are running below 2020 levels with breast stocks finally retreating from burdensome levels...
