Black Sea Regional Analysis

Russian Grain Markets: 9 - 13 January 2023    The Russian Statistics Agency (RosStat) has adjusted preliminary crop size numbers for the 2022 crop. Overall, grain production numbers were adjusted upwards reaching 153.83 MMT versus the previous 150.985 MMT. Wheat production was adjusted to 104.44 MMT (102.7 MMT), barley to 23.45 MMT (22.88 MMT) and corn to 11.78 MMT (11.68 MMT). Bunker weight, or weight before dockage and drying at the elevator, showed 160.597 MMT which means that losses were 4.2 percent versus 4.4 percent a year ago.
