The only commodity which slightly recovered is barley, but this is the exception rather than the rule. It is a record crop in Russia this season. Corn is under pressure from Ukrainian price dumping in the region, however, incredible high freight rates and demurrage in the Black Sea make it quite difficult to figure the right price. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
