Russian Grain Markets: 5 – 9 May 2025 Crop Outlook 2025 Russian analysts from IKRAR increased the wheat production forecast in Russia by 1.3 MMT to reach 83.8 MMT. They attribute the upgrade to rains in the wheat belt of Russia during the first 10 days of May. As a result, they also revised Russia’s 2025/26 wheat export potential to 41.3 MMT, up from 40 MMT. IKAR also believes that spring frosts did no serious damage to winter crops. USDA’s May forecast for the new 2025/26 season leaves Russia number one in global wheat exports at 45 MMT – up 1.5 MMT from this season.
