Russian Grain Markets: 7–11 August 2023  The Russian grain market was not following one clear trend. Partly because of the geographical spread of the country, but global factors also effect Russian markets and especially the latest developments in the Black Sea. The market is very sensitive to domestic Russian currency behavior and government moves related to export duties. The first factor triggered the second - government's desire to collect more duties. This in turn keeps the export market stable, however, if you go further away from the export marketplace you will see farmers are not sure if they are better off sitting on grain, selling it later, or selling immediately. Forecasting developments in production agriculture

On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
