Partly because of the geographical spread of the country, but global factors also effect Russian markets and especially the latest developments in the Black Sea. The market is very sensitive to domestic Russian currency behavior and government moves related to export duties. The first factor triggered the second - government's desire to collect more duties. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
