Russian Grain Markets: 3-7 September 2012 Harvesting Updates The Russian Ministry of Agriculture announced that as of 10 September, farmers harvested grains and pulses on 31.6 million hectares (70.5 percent of the target), producing 58.5 MMT of grains (versus 71.5 MMT as of the same date last year) with an average yield of 1.85 MT/hectare (0.6 MT/hectare less than last year's yield).The country's bread basket, the Southern Federal District, produced 14.8 MMT (4.5 MMT less than the previous season) and with a yield of 2.6 MT/hectare (down from 3.24 MT/hectare).
