Russian Grain Markets: 24 September–1 October 2013 Harvesting Updates As of 26 September, grain and leguminous crops were harvested on 34.2 million hectares, 74.1 percent of the planted area (35.5 million hectares were harvested as of the same date in 2012 and 36.2 million hectares as of same date in 2011). The volume of the grain produced was 75.5 MMT (10.4 MMT more than as of the same date in 2012) with the average yield of 2.21 MT/hectare (1.83 MT/hectare in 2012). Forecasting developments in production agriculture

On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
