Black Sea Regional Analysis

Russian Grain Markets: 23-27 March 2020 Grain prices on the domestic Russian market kept increasing as exporters are trying to export as much as possible before export limitation is introduced. Meanwhile on the export market, milling wheat average price skyrocketed to $223/MT FOB Black Sea. Purchase prices grew to RUB 15,000-15,200/MT. Feed barley average export price was stable at $178/MTFOB Black Sea, purchase price was also stable at RUB 11,400/MTCPT-port Black Sea. Communicating importance of value-added products

Facing increasing pressure to quantify the value of export promotion efforts to investors, a U.S. industry organization retained WPI to develop a quantitative model that better communicated the importance of exports. The resulting model concluded that value-added meat exports contributed $0.45 cents per bushel to the price of corn, increasing support for that sector’s financial support of WPI’s client. In addition to serving the red meat industry with this type of analysis, WPI has generated similar deliverables for the U.S. soybean and poultry/egg industries.
