Bright Belgian Light According to Euractiv, Belgian Federal Minister David Clarinval said he would emphasize food sovereignty as he assumes the Presidency of the EU’s Agriculture Council for the next six months. He said, “we must provide farmers with the tools to produce sufficient and high-quality food for Europe [as well as supplying] third countries." Apparently, food is only to be exported and not imported. He then expressed his support for new genomic techniques, saying they are “crucial for the agriculture of the future.” But apparently not that crucial.
