Cattle on Feed Tomorrow (after the markets close) USDA will release its monthly Cattle on Feed report. The industry’s pre-report estimates peg the total number of cattle on feed as of 1 August to be 104.4 percent of last year. That’s in line with last month’s 104 percent, and it would be the 19th consecutive month that the feed inventory was larger than the year prior. June placements are expected at 105.5 percent of last year, which would be a big jump in the trend compared with last month’s 101 percent, but marketings are expected to have kept current at 104.9 percent of July 2017 totals.
