Substitution of Feed Wheat for Corn Continues to Surge on High Corn Prices Fueled by record corn prices and abundant wheat stocks totalling 50 MMT, substitution of feed wheat for corn has expanded dramatically this year, especially in Southern China where corn prices are highest. In Guangdong, feed wheat is currently priced 200 yuan/MT lower than corn. High quality imported feed wheat is reportedly priced 150 yuan/MT lower than corn in Southern China, which has pushed China's wheat imports in 2011/12 to 2.1 MMT (through March), the highest level since 2005.
