Negative Attitude Towards GMOs Increases Among Chinese Consumers Chinese consumers are becoming less tolerant of GMOs, according to a survey conducted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The survey shows that the percentage of consumers who "accept or would be willing to consider" purchasing GMO foods fell to 53 percent from 61 percent in the same survey conducted in 2002/03.
