Oilseeds Soymeal Inventory Declines Slightly Stepped-up utilization rates created a buying opportunity for downstream feed manufacturers and livestock producers with soymeal prices falling sharply last week on increased supplies. China’s estimated soymeal inventory totaled approximately 1.223 MMT as of 24 August 2018, down 40,600 MT (-3.2 percent) from the week before but 151,300 MT higher (+14.1 percent) than the same week a year ago. At the regional level, meal stocks declined across the board except for the increases in Fujian and Guangxi Provinces of 6,000 MT (+40 percent) to 21,000 MT and 37,000 MT (+40.2 percent) to 129,000 MT, respectively.
