Oilseeds Soymeal Inventories Fall Again Over Holiday Week There was a sharp slowdown in crushing activity during the lengthy holiday week that combined the Mid-Autumn Harvest Festival and China’s National Day, which recognizes the founding of the People’s Republic of China. As a result, the country’s soymeal inventories fell another 10,700 MT (-1.2 percent) to finish the first week of the month at 877,800 MT. However, that was up 374,900 MT (+74.5 percent) versus the same week in 2016. At the regional level, only the East had an increase in its soymeal inventory from the week prior, rising 42,400 MT (+7.7 percent) to 593,300 MT.
