Most of the soy milk consumed in China is obtained from street vendors. White Wave Foods will be entering the market in a joint venture effort to convert that consumption to pre-packaged products.The leading soy milk producer in the U.S. today, White Wave Foods, announced last year that it had entered into a joint venture with a Chinese firm, China Mengniu Dairy Company. The joint venture also purchased Yashili Zhengzhou, which has a new production facility in China. Under the terms of the agreement, White Wave will have a 49 percent stake in the venture and Mengniu a 51 percent interest. The purchase price for Zhengzhou is expected to be approximately $85 million (RMB 510 million). That includes approximately $62 million (RMB 377 million)...
