In contrast to yesterday’s enthusiasm, today’s markets were lower in quiet trade. There was little tradeable new information today, with the markets digesting forecasts of cool, rainy Midwest weather and Russia’s odd news of possible export slowdowns.  Wall Street is higher as of this writing with the Dow reaching a new intraday and lurching closer towards the 27,000 mark. The U.S. dollar is slightly higher after the Institute for Supply Management said its nonmanufacturing index rose in September. Also encouraging dollar bulls was the new trade deal with Canada and Mexico. Crude oil settled higher on continued concerns about supplies amid the Iranian sections.
