As we have commented before, USDA's August WASDE is always notable because it contains the first crop yield and production estimates for U.S. corn and soybean crops that are based upon actual survey and sampling procedures conducted by USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). This gives credibility to the August estimates that USDA's prior desktop projections cannot match. Thus, agricultural interests in the U.S. and globally eagerly await each August WASDE and its first real corn and soybean production estimates for the upcoming crop cycle.
