It has been nearly two weeks since USDA released the quarterly stocks report, final U.S. corn and soybean production estimates, planted winter wheat acreage and the January WASDE which incorporated and/or interpreted all of this fresh data. The results were considered to be generally bullish for the grain and soy markets, right down to the surprisingly low winter wheat plantings. Despite small production increases for soybeans and corn, the reports, when taken all together, clearly indicated that U.S. corn and soybean supplies were being drawn down at an untenable rate. Even U.S. wheat supplies were in decline. And given low winter wheat acreage and the drought plaguing much of the 2013 HRW crop, U.S. wheat supplies seem likely to decline...
