Following is an ad hoc summary of some of the important numbers from USDA's October WASDE.In a year of drought and tight supplies, every month's fresh estimates of production, supplies and demand from USDA are eagerly anticipated with traders trying to position themselves in advance based on their pre-report expectations. Leading up to today's report, non-commercial traders increasingly came to fear a bearish report, and they aggressively shrank the size of their long positions.
