Congress has 12 appropriations bills to pass to fund the government for the 2014 fiscal year which starts on 1 October 2013 but to date the House has passed four and the Senate none. Under regular order, these bills should be passed by both the House and Senate in May after the Congressional Budget Resolution has passed and then the House and Senate bills are subject to conference. On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
