The coronavirus economic lockdown caused ethanol demand thus corn usage to plunge this year but the long-term shows a limited future for the biomass-based fuel. Using projections for all-electric and hybrid automobiles sales, Bloomberg analysts forecast a return to conventional internal combustion engine use but not a full one, and one that eventually declines over time.   Over the next decade, demand for corn derived ethanol is likely to decline by nearly 15 percent.
