There is a lot of prognostication about the potential outcome, more and more of it predicting a change in party control of the House of Representatives. The current 50/50 split Senate is expected to come down to the wire; the Democrats could get outright control no longer having to rely on the tie-breaking vote of Vice President Harris, or the Republicans could win a majority. Either way, the margin is so tight that a two-seat majority is the outer bounds. A continued 50/50 split is also a distinct possibility. WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
