The notice of data availability (NODA) recently released by the EPA (see Ag Perspectives, 26 September) was triggered by several issues, primarily the Commerce Dept.’s announcement of preliminary determination that biodiesel entering the U.S. from Argentina and Indonesia had received countervailable subsidies of 50.29-64.17 percent and 41.06-68.28 percent, respectively. One of the waiver-related discussion points considered in the NODA was application of the 15 percent biodiesel wavier authority, which the EPA has been statutorily invested in by the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA). Forecasting developments in production agriculture
On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt.
