The House Energy and Commerce Committee has been moving steadily ahead this year toward considering reform of the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). A series of questions was first posed to stakeholders with the intention to inform committee staff as they drafted white papers on the various policy issues surrounding biofuels policy and then more recently targeted to various stakeholder positions at hearings. It now appears that Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Michigan) has appointed four deputies from the committee to develop a reform plan which stops short of repeal. The members are:
