Export Sales and Shipments for January 5-11, 2024 Wheat: Net sales of 707,600 metric tons (MT) for 2023/2024 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Export shipments of 244,900 MT were down 58 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Japan (62,900 MT), Mexico (55,500 MT), Thailand (55,300 MT), Taiwan (41,400 MT), and Haiti (12,100 MT). Forecasting developments in production agriculture
On behalf of a private U.S. agricultural technology provider, WPI’s team generated an econometric model to forecast the movement of concentrated corn production north and west from the traditional U.S. Corn Belt. WPI’s model has subsequently provided quantitative support to a multi-million-dollar investment into short-season corn variety development.
