Export Sales

Export Sales and Shipments for July 21-27, 2023. Wheat:  Net sales of 421,300 metric tons (MT) for 2023/2024 were up 81 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average. Export shipments of 507,400 MT were up 28 percent from the previous week and 54 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (141,700 MT), Mexico (105,200 MT), the Philippines (45,900 MT), Vietnam (42,300 MT), and Japan (34,200 MT).   Corn:  Net sales of 107,500 MT for 2022/2023 were down 66 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Illuminating the value of technical research

On behalf of a commodity producer organization, WPI evaluated the outputs from a project that featured a $5 million investment into technical research over multiple years. WPI’s team captured the results of this extensive effort and synthesized them for presentation to the organization’s governing board; among the findings uncovered and presented for the first time was the development of genomic traits proven, via rigorous testing, to provide crop yield advantages of 50 percent or more to U.S. farmers in times of drought. Capturing measurable results from long-term efforts can be challenging. Educating clients on the dynamics of success measurement when quantifiable results are not readily available requires deep client-consultant collaboration and an ability to consider both near- and long-term client aspirations with market/policy dynamics – attributes that WPI brings to every consulting engagement.
