F2F Fight The battle between the EU’s new Green Deal and Farm2Fork strategies and U.S. farmers was joined today at a meeting of the Chicago-based Farm Foundation. The EU has correctly decided that farming must be accomplished with less adverse impact on the environment, but U.S. farmers worry that the solution being constructed in Brussels one, lacks a factual basis and, two, will inevitably result in protectionism. At issue is the EU’s targeted reduction in the use of inputs (pesticides and fertilizer) coupled with a mandate for increased organic production.
