Fair and Equitable In order to secure votes for the USMCA from Florida and Georgia politicians representing perishable fruit and vegetable growers, USTR promised subsequent action to impose the kind of seasonal import protections that failed to make it into the agreement just negotiated with Mexico. In response, Mexican Deputy Trade Minister Luz Maria de la Mora reciprocated by saying any such policy would be met by a similar protection against exports from the U.S. The Mexican answer appears to fit squarely with U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’ call for “fair and equitable” trade. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
