Farm Bill Conference – Instructions to House Conferees

We wrote yesterday that the House passed two resolutions instructing conferees to: Seek the repeal of the sugar program. Support a Senate amendment to limit crop insurance premium subsidies for farmers with an adjusted gross income of $750,000 or more. That was incorrect as it pertains to the sugar program. In fact, the House did pass a rule on considering those resolutions, but the instruction on the sugar program was defeated when considered under the terms of the rule. The crop insurance program instructions did pass by voice vote. Weighing in on strategic realignment

WPI’s team was retained by the governing board of a U.S. industry organization to review a decision, reached by vote, to invest significant assets into the development and management of an export trading company. WPI’s team conducted a formal review of this decision and concluded that the current level of market saturation would limit the benefits of the investment. Based on WPI’s analysis and recommended actions, the board subsequently reversed its decision and undertook a strategic planning effort to identify more impactful investments.
