Today was day four of voting on the Senate farm bill. The following is a recap of today's action.At the time of this report, Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) was seeking to introduce his amendment that would overturn the Plant Protection Act that limits judges' abilities to act against genetically modified seeds that courts have found to be potentially hazardous. Ranking Minority Member Thad Cochran (R-Mississippi) objected to taking up the Merkley amendment.The Senate leadership is trying to get a finite list of additional amendments that will be offered and will schedule more votes today.
