We spent much of the last two days in a flat boat casting flies in hopes of finding red fish in the shallow grassy waters near the mouth of the Cape Fear River where they hang out, feasting on shrimp that are washed in by the high tide and washed back out as the tide recedes. We mention this only because it is an activity that allows the mind to wander to important subjects not related to fly fishing the flats, such as finding world peace, solving world hunger and what will markets be doing six or 12 months from now or longer.
