The House Rules Committee is meeting today to report out a rule on which amendments to the Farm Bill will be ruled in order during the floor consideration, and there have been 226 amendments filed for the House Farm Bill floor debate. As expected, nutrition spending is the focus of debate, as generally and specifically, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – formerly known as food stamps – is the topic of 52 amendments – almost one in four of the amendments filed.
