New Grain Production Estimates The government of India (GOI) released its third advance estimates on 23 April, putting 2011/12 grain production at 252.56 MMT, nearly 2 MMT higher than the second advance estimates of 250.42 MMT released on 2 February. The total grain production is estimated to be 7.78 MMT higher than last year's grain production of 244.78 MMT, an increase of 3.17 percent.Rice production is estimated at 103.41 MMT.
