Wheat procurement likely to cross the target – ways and means to distribute and contain damage As of last week, Punjab farmers sold 12.027 MMT of wheat to government agencies. This is at present 0.5 MMT higher than the target of 11.5 MMT fixed by the state government. Reports indicate that farmers were given the money within 48 hours and money was deposited in their accounts directly. In the state of Haryana the procurement was 8.325 MMT.
