Egg Production to Increase in India The growth of India's egg sector in the last few years has been impressive. Even with high feed costs, production grew 3.89 percent (62.38 billion eggs) in 2011 and is expected be 4 percent higher (64.88 billion eggs) in 2012. The egg sector has seen such impressive development for a number of reasons, such as the population's access to more disposable income, undue price increases for other proteins and the lack of an environmental clearance requirement.
