Ineffective Aid U.S. Agency for International Development official Nancy Lindborg says the Sahel region of Africa is in the midst of long-term drought and the agency has provided $350 million this year to aid the area. Meanwhile, the Center for Global Development has issued an assessment of the quality of aid given by donors to the agriculture sector in poor countries.
