Sows farrowing during June-August were 3.18 million head, 97 percent of 2019 and above the last quarterly report’s reported farrowing intentions of 3.123 million head.
USDA will release its monthly Cattle on Feed report tomorrow. Pre-report estimates from the industry put the total number of cattle on feed as of 1 September at 103 percent of last year. Placements in July are expected to be 106 percent of last year and marketings are forecast at 97 percent.
