Livestock Roundup: Cattle on Feed, Hogs and Pigs Preview

USDA will release its Cattle on Feed report tomorrow, along with the December quarterly Hogs and Pigs report.   The cattle markets are anticipating the Cattle on Feed report; since the Friday after Thanksgiving futures prices have been volatile, but definitely bearish. Some participants have called it a meltdown. The June live cattle contract peaked at $185.40/cwt and bottomed out at $163.65/cwt. It is now above $171/cwt.
