The beef and cattle market is now past the milestone 4th of July holiday, between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends that define the high demand season. Beef demand has held up so far and so has cattle supply, perhaps more than otherwise would have been expected. The last cattle on feed report showed on feed inventories at 100 percent of last year. The value of 90 percent lean beef was 30 percent higher from the week before Memorial Day 2024 through the 4th of July compared to the same period last year. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
