It will be closed indefinitely, and following is a closer look at the impact. The plant has a capacity of approximately 6,000 head/day, and daily kills are estimated at 5,700 head. That is about 20 percent of Tyson’s capacity, 5 percent of national slaughter capacity and 23.5 percent of the slaughter capacity in Kansas.
