The futures market pattern of firmer soybeans and weaker grains continued overnight in modest limited volume, but the truth is that soybean gains as well as corn and wheat losses were relatively small. The market as a whole remains stuck in technical purgatory between support and resistance levels that traders do not seem interested in challenging. After some limited up-and-down price movement, the soy complex firmed and stayed that way up to the afternoon close. Soybean futures finished around 2 cents higher, meal had a mixed close with gains up to a dollar, and soyoil closed up 34 points or more to recover some of the ground it lost to meal yesterday.
