General Comments Grain and the soy complex faced three important or potentially important influences today. First, there was the Russian Food Security Council meeting led by the Ministry of Agriculture to discuss Russia's grain situation. A number of Russia watchers thought there was a chance that some plan to restrict wheat exports might be announced. What the meeting did produce was another drop in estimated grain production due to drought conditions. Russian officials now estimate total grain production will fall between 70 MMT and 75 MMT.
