General Comments The weekly Export Sales report mostly fell below market expectations, but not by enough to be much of a market factor. Export sales in the soy complex continue to garner attention, however. USDA reported old crop soybean sales of 386,000 MT and new crop sales of 867,000. Total old crop soybean export commitments (open sales plus shipments) have now reached about 1.226 billion bushels versus USDA's prediction of 1.345 billion bushels for the entire 2012/13 year. Only 120 million bushels of additional export commitments are needed to reach USDA's goal. There are 30 weeks left in the soybean crop year, and if our arithmetic is correct, export sales need to average only 109,000 MT (4.0 million bushels) per week to meet it. D...
