General Comments The weekly Export Sales report mostly fell below market expectations, but not by enough to be much of a market factor. Export sales in the soy complex continue to garner attention, however. USDA reported old crop soybean sales of 386,000 MT and new crop sales of 867,000. Total old crop soybean export commitments (open sales plus shipments) have now reached about 1.226 billion bushels versus USDA's prediction of 1.345 billion bushels for the entire 2012/13 year. Only 120 million bushels of additional export commitments are needed to reach USDA's goal. On behalf of a Canadian oilseed processer WPI's team provided market analysis, econometric modeling and financial due diligence in support of a $24 million-dollar investment in a Ukrainian crush plant. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
