General Comments The pessimism about further planting delays for corn, soybeans and spring wheat generated by last weekend's heavy rains and the lingering showers since then has given way to optimism that crops will get planted after all. Weather models are now indicating a few days of drier weather ahead for the Midwest with warming temperatures that should help dry out soggy fields. Farmers are back at it in southern portions of the Corn Belt, going around wetter low areas and planting higher ground. And as a wise man once observed, when it comes to planting crops, there is more high ground than low ground.
