General Comments Corn and soy futures prices continued the down one day and up the next pattern of recent days. Traders are parsing every weather model run and forecast as well as rainfall totals and temperature readings across the Corn Belt but focusing most intently on Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Illinois. There is a general consensus that rain is needed over most of the western Belt. Unfortunately, weather models and forecasts have been ambivalent while changeable and frequently inconsistent about the timing of any potential rain, the likely amounts and the coverage.
