General Comments The Pro Farmer tour's corn and soybean production estimates were below the USDA August WASDE estimates and that, coupled with the extended streak of very hot and very dry weather, brought heavy fund and speculative buying back to the soy complex. All markets opened stronger than expected Sunday and soybeans were trading 50+ cents higher by the time the sun rose. Volume was huge in the overnight session and total volume today in corn and soybeans was enormous. Volume in the November soybean contract was above 200,000 contracts. Consistent with WPI's findings, local production to supply the plant and the facility's output have expanded exponentially since the investment.
