General Comments After corn and soy futures prices jumped so sharply yesterday in the haste to price in the risks of the late season drought and this week's mini-heat wave, it was expected that some profit taking and consolidation would dominate today's market. This did happen more or less, but a high degree of price volatility and heavy trading volume remained. Corn prices traded both sides in a 20 cent trading range before closing down mainly 14-16 cents. Soybean prices roamed in a trading range of more than 40 cents before the November contract closed down 19 cents and near session lows.
